55	48		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
56	49		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 74 O.S. 2021, Section 314, is
57	50		amended to read as follows:
58	51		Section 314. The State Fire Marshal and or the chief of the
59	52		fire department of every city , town or village district in which a
60	53		fire department is established, and or the mayor of every
61	54		incorporated village city or town in which no fire department
62	55		exists, and or the sheriff of the county shall investiga te the
63	56		cause, origin and circumstances of every fire occurring in such
64	57		city, village, town district or county by which property has been
65	58		destroyed or damaged, and shall especially m ake investigation as to
	59	+	whether the cause of such fire was the result of carelessness or
	60	+	design accidental or intentional. Said investigation shall begin
	61	+	within two (2) days, not including Sundays, forty-eight (48) hours

94		-	design accidental or intentional. Said investigation shall begin
95		-	within two (2) days, not including Sundays, forty-eight (48) hours
96	88		of the occurrence of such fire , and the said Fire Marshal shall have
97	89		the right to supervise and d irect such investigation whenever he
98	90		deems it necessary or expedient. The officer ma king the
99	91		investigation of fires, shall forthwith notify said Fire Marshal and
100	92		shall within a week of the occ urrence of the fire furnish to the
101	93		said Fire Marshal a written statement of all facts relating to the
102	94		cause and origin of the fire, and such other i nformation as may be
103	95		called for by blanks provided by said Marshal. The State Fire
104	96		Marshal shall keep in hi s office a record of all fires occurring in
105	97		the state, together with all facts, statistics and circumstances
106	98		including the origin of the fires, whic h may be determined by the
107	99		investigation provided by this act; such records shall a t all times
108	100		be open to the public inspection, and such portions of it as the
109	101		insurance commissioner may deem necessary shall be transcribed and
110	102		forwarded to him within fifte en (15) days from the 1st day of
111	103		January of each year . The officer making the investigation of fires
112	104		shall within a week of the occurrence of the fire complete a written
113	105		statement of all acts relating to the cause and origin of the fire
114	106		and shall within forty-eight (48) hours of the occurrence of such
115	107		fire report to the State Fi re Marshal all civilian and firef ighter
116	108		injuries and fatalities resulting from the occurrence of such f ire.
	109	+	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 202 3.
