AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to the practice of pharma cy; amending 
59 O.S. 2021, Section 353.30 , which relates to 
agreements; modifying term; authorizing pharmacist to 
enter into collaborative practice agreements; 
directing promulgation of ru les; defining term; and 
providing an effective date . 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY     59 O.S. 2021, Section 353.30, is 
amended to read as follows: 
Section 353.30. A. The use of collaborative practice 
agreements in the practice of pharmacy shall be acceptable within 
the rules promulgated by the State Board of Pharmacy an d in 
consultation with the State Board of Medical Licensure and 
Supervision and the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners . A 
pharmacist may enter into a collaborative practice agreement with 
one or more practitioners licensed in this state . 
B.  The Board shall develop and prepare permanent rules relating 
to collaborative practice agreements including, but not limited to, 
training requirements and administration of immunizations and

therapeutic injections in consultatio n within the State Board of 
Medical Licensure and S upervision and the State Board of Osteopathic 
Examiners. 
C.  A pharmacist who has completed a requisite course of 
training as approved by the Board in consultation with the State 
Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision and the State Board of 
Osteopathic Examiners may administer therapeutic injections on 
orders from a licensed prescriber, and may administer immunizations 
that have been approved or authorized by the Food an d Drug 
Administration without a p atient-specific prescription, standing 
order or similar arrangement. 
D.  As used in this section, “collaborative practice agre ement” 
means a formal agreement in which a licensed practitioner makes a 
diagnosis, supervises patient care, and refers patients t o a 
pharmacist under a protocol that allows the pha rmacist to perform 
specific patient care functio ns including, but not limited to, 
administration of immunizations and therapeutic injections . 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective Nov ember 1, 2023.
