264255 B. 1. When determining the Minimum Salary Schedule minimum

298-2. If a school district intends to provide retirement benefits
299-to a teacher such that the teacher 's salary would be less than the
300-amounts set forth in the minimum sa lary schedule specified in
301-subsection A of this section, the district shall be required to
302-provide written notification to the teacher prior to his or her
303-employment or, if already employed by the district, no later than
304-thirty (30) days prior to the date the district elects to provide
305297 retirement benefits such that the teacher's salary would be less
306298 than the minimum salary schedule.
307299 C. Any of the degrees referred to in this section shall be from
308300 a college recognized by the State Board of Education. The Bo ard
309301 shall accept teaching experien ce from out-of-state school districts
310302 that are accredited by the state board of education or appropriate
311303 state accrediting agency for the districts. The Board shall accept
312304 teaching experience from out -of-country schools that are accredited
313305 or otherwise endorsed by the appropriate national or regional
314306 accrediting or endorsement authority. Out -of-country certification
315307 documentation in a language other than English shall be analyzed by
316308 an educational credential evaluation se rvice in accordance with
317309 industry standards and guidelines and approved by the State
318310 Department of Education. The person seeking to have credit granted
319311 for out-of-country teaching experience shall be responsible for all
320312 costs of the analysis by a credenti al evaluation service. The Board
321313 shall accept teaching experience from primary and secondary scho ols
314+that are operated by the United States Dep artment of Defense or are
315+affiliated with the United States Department of State.
316+D. For the purpose of state sa lary increments and retirement,
317+no teacher shall be granted credit for more than five (5) years of
318+active duty in the military service or out -of-state or out-of-
319+country teaching experience as a certified teacher or its
320+equivalent. Nothing in this section shall prohibit boards of

350-D. For the purpose of state sa lary increments and retirement,
351-no teacher shall be granted credit for more than five (5) years of
352-active duty in the military service or out -of-state or out-of-
353-country teaching experience as a certified teacher or its
354-equivalent. Nothing in this section shall prohibit boards of
355348 education from crediting more years of experience on district salary
356349 schedules than those allowed for state purposes.
357350 E. The State Board of Education shall recognize, for purposes
358351 of certification and salary increments, all the ye ars of experience
359352 of a:
360353 1. Certified teacher who teaches in the educational program of
361354 the Department of Corrections, beginning with fiscal yea r 1981;
362355 2. Vocational rehabilitation counselor under the Department of
363356 Human Services if the counselor was empl oyed as a certified teacher
364357 by the State Department of Education when the Division of Vocational
365358 Rehabilitation was transferred from the State B oard of Career and
366359 Technology Education or the State Board of Education to the Oklahoma
367360 Public Welfare Commissio n on July 1, 1968;
368361 3. Vocational rehabilitation counselor which were completed
369362 while employed by the Department of Human Services if such couns elor
370363 was certified as a teacher or was eligible for certification as a
371364 teacher in Oklahoma;
365+4. Certified teache r which were completed while emplo yed by the
366+Child Study Center located at University Hospital, if the teacher
367+was certified as a teacher in Okl ahoma; and
368+5. Certified school psychologist or psychometrist which were

398-4. Certified teache r which were completed while em ployed by the
399-Child Study Center located at University Hospital, if the teacher
400-was certified as a teacher in Okl ahoma; and
401-5. Certified school psychologist or psychometrist which were
402-completed while employed as a doctoral intern, psychological
403-assistant, or psychologist with any agency of the State of Oklahoma
404-if the experience primarily involved work with persons of school- or
405399 preschool-age and if the person was, at the time the experience was
406400 acquired, certified as, or el igible for certification as, a sch ool
407401 psychologist or psychometrist.
408402 F. The provisions of this se ction shall not apply to teachers
409403 who have entered into postretirement employment with a public school
410404 in Oklahoma and are still receiving a monthly retiremen t benefit.
411405 G. If a person employe d as certified personnel, as defined in
412406 Section 26-103 of this title, by a school district during the 2017 -
413407 2018 school year was receiving a salary above the step level
414408 indicated by the State Minimum Salary Schedule state minimum salary
415409 schedule for the 2017-2018 school year, the person shall receive a
416410 salary increase amount equal to the amount indicated in subsect ion A
417411 for the step level indicated for the person, provided they remain
418412 employed by the same district, unless the hours or the duties of the
419413 certified personnel are reduced proportionately.
420414 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023.

775-Technology Education or the Sta te Board of Education to the Oklahoma
776-Public Welfare Commiss ion on July 1, 1968;
777-3. Vocational rehabilitation counselor which were completed
778-while employed by the Department of Human Services if such counselor
779-was certified as a teacher or was eligible fo r certification as a
780-teacher in Oklahoma;
781-4. Certified teacher which were completed while employed by the
782-Child Study Center located at University Hospital, if the teacher
783-was certified as a teacher in Oklahoma; and

810-5. Certified school psychologist or ps ychometrist which were
811-completed while employed as a doctor al intern, psychological
812-assistant, or psychologist with any agency of the State of Oklah oma
813-if the experience primarily inv olved work with persons of school- or
814-preschool-age and if the person was , at the time the experience was
815-acquired, certified as, or eligible for certification as, a school
816-psychologist or psychometrist.
817-F. The provisions of this section shall not apply t o teachers
818-who have entered into postretirement employment with a public school
819-in Oklahoma and are st ill receiving a monthly retire ment benefit.
820-G. If a person employed a s certified personnel, as defined in
821-Section 26-103 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes , by a school
822-district during the 2022-2023 school year was receiving a salary
823-above the step level indicated by the State Mini mum Salary Schedule
824-for the 2022-2023 school year, the person shall receive a salary
825-increase amount equal t o the amount indicated i n subsection A for
826-the step level indicated for the person , provided they remain
827-employed by the same district, unless the h ours or the duties of the
828-certified personnel are reduced proportionately.
829-SECTION 5. This act shall become effective Ju ly 1, 2023.
830-SECTION 6. It being immediately n ecessary for the preservation
831416 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is her eby
832417 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take eff ect and
833418 be in full force from and after its pa ssage and approval.
