4641 An Act relating to daylight saving time; establishing
4742 daylight time in this state; specifying effect on
4843 certain actions; exempting Oklahoma from the federal
4944 standard time provision; authorizing future action;

5853 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5954 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A n ew section of law to be codified
6055 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 90.26 of Title 25, unless there
6156 is created a duplication in nu mbering, reads as follows:
6257 A. The standard time in Oklahoma shall be known as Central
6358 Daylight Time (CDT).
6459 B. This section shall not be construe d to affect the standard
6560 time established by United St ates law governing the moveme nts of
6661 common carriers engaged in interstate commerce or the t ime for
62+performance of an act by an officer or department of the United
63+States, as established by a statute, la wful order, rule, or
64+regulation of the United States o r an agency thereof.

93-performance of an act by an officer or department of the United
94-States, as established by a statute, la wful order, rule, or
95-regulation of the United States or an agency thereof.
9692 C. As authorized by the Uniform Time Act of 1966, as amended,
9793 and notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the contrary by
9894 the United States government rel ating to adoption of daylight saving
9995 time by all of the states, this state elects to adopt such time and
10096 elects to continue i n force the terms of subsection A of th is
10197 section relating to the year-round daylight standard time in
10298 Oklahoma.
10399 D. The adopting of daylight saving time as provided for in this
104100 section may be changed by f uture legislative action.
105101 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect only if t he United States
106102 Congress amends federal law that permits states to enter upon and
107103 permanently observe daylight saving time.
