BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 7-304.2 of Title 29, unless 
there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
A.  After the effective date of this act, twenty thousand 
(20,000) acres of the Pushmataha Wildlife Management Area shall be 
renamed as the Pushmataha Wildlife Preserve. 
B.  The purpose of the Pushmataha Wildlife Preserve shall be to 
regulate the hunting and preservation of the wildlife and game in 
the area in order to further the preservation of Oklahoma’s wildlife 
population. 
C.  The total maximum allocation of funds necessary by the 
Department of Wildlife Conservation shall be One Million Dollars 
($1,000,000.00).  The funds shall be derived from legislative

appropriations.  The purpose of the funds shall be used for the 
enclosing of the land, wildlife personnel, and all expenses deemed 
necessary by the Director for the management of the Pushmataha 
Wildlife Preserve. 
D.  The Department of Wildlife Conservation shall promul gate 
rules necessary for the preservation of the Pushmataha Elk Reserve. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
