71 | 71 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: |

72 | 72 | | SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 2 O.S. 2021, S ection 6-188, is |
---|
73 | 73 | | amended to read as follows: |

74 | 74 | | Section 6-188. A. The Board shall cause to be made, by |
---|
75 | 75 | | competent inspectors, such inspection of all slaugh tering, meat- |
---|
76 | 76 | | canning, salting, packing, rendering, or similar establishments in |
---|
77 | 77 | | which cattle, bison, sh eep, swine, goats, horses, mules, and other |
---|
78 | 78 | | equines are slaughtered and the meat and meat food products thereof |
---|
79 | 79 | | are prepared for intrastate commerce as m ay be necessary to inform |
---|
80 | 80 | | itself concerning the sanitary conditions of the same and to |
---|
81 | 81 | | prescribe the rules and regulations of sanitation under which such |
---|
82 | 82 | | establishments shall be maintained; and where the sanitary |
---|
83 | 83 | | conditions of any such establishment are su ch that the meat or meat |
---|
84 | 84 | | food products are rendered adulterated, it shall refuse to allow |
---|
85 | 85 | | said meat or meat food products to be labeled, marked, stamped, or |

140 | 140 | | B. The provisions of this section shall not apply to th e |
---|
141 | 141 | | slaughtering of animals by any person at a custom slaughtering |
---|
142 | 142 | | facility, the preparation at such custom slaughtering facility , and |
---|
143 | 143 | | transportation in commerce of the carcasses, parts thereof, or meat |
---|
144 | 144 | | and meat food products of such ani mals if: |
---|
145 | 145 | | 1. The slaughtering and preparation carried out at such custom |
---|
146 | 146 | | slaughter facility is carried out in accordance with the laws of |
---|
147 | 147 | | this state; and |
---|
148 | 148 | | 2. The animals are so slaughtered and the car casses, parts |
---|
149 | 149 | | thereof, and meat and meat food pro ducts of such animals are so |
---|
150 | 150 | | prepared exclusively for dist ribution to: |
---|
151 | 151 | | a. household consumers with in this state, and |
---|
152 | 152 | | b. restaurants, hotels, boarding houses, grocery sto res, |
---|
153 | 153 | | or other establishments locat ed in this state that: |
---|
154 | 154 | | (1) are involved in the p reparation of meals served |
---|
155 | 155 | | directly to consumers, or |
---|
156 | 156 | | (2) offer meat and meat food products for sale |
---|
157 | 157 | | directly to consumers in this state. |
---|
158 | 158 | | SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023. |
