27	61		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

29	62		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 19 O.S. 2021, Section 1 65, is
30	63		amended to read as follows:

32	64		Section 165. A. In lieu of reimbursement for traveling
33	65		expenses within their county each county commissioner and sheriff
34	66		may receive a monthly travel allowance of Seven Hundred Dollars
35	67		($700.00) up to One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00). In lieu of the
36	68		reimbursement for traveling expenses authorized by law for each

37	96		county officer, each county assessor may receive a monthly travel
38	97		allowance of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) up to Nine Hundred
39	98		Dollars ($900.00), and each county clerk, court clerk and county
40	99		treasurer may receive a monthly travel allowance of Five Hundred
41	100		Dollars ($500.00) up to Eight Hundred Dollars ($ 800.00) . Each such
42	101		county officer may be subj ect to the penalty provided by Section 166
43	102		of this title for fa ilure to attend the meetings specified in that
44	103		section.

48	104		B. Beginning in Fiscal Year 2028 and every fiscal year
49	105		thereafter, the monthly amount of travel reimbursement allowances
50	106		for county officers shall increase annually by two percent (2%).

52	107		C. All newly elected county officials shall be reimbursed by
53	108		their respective counties for any approved training provided before
54	109		such official takes office. Such training ex penses shall be
55	110		reimbursed in January when such official takes office.

57	111		C. D. The provisions of this section and Sections 163 and 164
58	112		of this title shall not prevent the emergency use of a county -owned
59	113		vehicle or county-owned equipment by a county officer when such
60	114		county officer is ac ting on behalf of the county or when such use is
61	115		related to county business. As used in this subsection, “emergency”
62	116		means an unforeseen combination of circumstances or the resulting
63	117		state that calls for immediate action.

65	118		SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
66	119		of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
