7777 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF RE PRESENTATIVES OF THE
7878 1ST SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
7979 SECTION 1. The Secretary of State shall refer t o the people for
8080 their approval or rejection, as and in the manner provided by law,
8181 the following proposed amendment to Secti on 30 of Article II of the
8282 Oklahoma Constitution to read as follows:
8383 Section 30. The right of the people to be secure in their
8484 persons, houses, electronic data and electronic communicati ons,
8585 papers, and effects against unreasonable searches or seizures shall
8686 not be violated; and no warrant shall issue but upo n probable cause
8787 supported by oath or affirmation, describing as particularly a s may
8888 be the place to be searched and the person or t hing to be seized.

145145 THE GIST OF THE PROPOSITION IS AS FOLLOWS:
146146 This measure amends Section 30 of Article 2 of the Oklahoma
147147 Constitution. This section protects the rights of the people
148148 against unreasonable searches and seizures . This measure would
149149 add electronic data and electronic communications to the list of
150150 items that require a warrant based on pro bable cause to search
151151 for or seize such items.
