BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1210.210 of Title 70, unless there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: A. The State Department of Education Office of Federal Programs shall, in conjunction wi th the Office of Planning and Coordination for Services to Children and Yo uth Steering Committee established in Section 601.6c of Title 10 of th e Oklahoma Statutes, adopt a SENATE FLOOR VERSION - HB1029 SFLR Page 2 (Bold face denotes Committee Amendments) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 standard form to be used by all school districts to identify students who are homeless children and youth as defined in Section 600 of Title 10 of the Oklaho ma Statutes. Beginning with the 2024 - 2025 school year, the form shall be completed annually at enrollment by the parent or guardian of a student or by the student if he or she is not in the physica l custody of a parent or guardian. Districts shall report the results to the Department, in a manner prescribed by the Department, no later than June 1 of each year. B. Beginning July 1, 2025, the Department shall compile a report of the number of studen ts identified as being homeless, by district and grade level. The report shall be distributed annu ally to the Governor, Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representati ves, Chair of the House Common Education Committee, President Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma State Senate, Chair of the Senate Education Committee, and the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth.
