11851 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
11952 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
12053 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 5 -401 of Title 2, unless there
12154 is created a duplication in numbering, r eads as follows:
12255 A. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry
12356 shall operate an Oklahoma Local Food for Schools program for the
12457 purpose of facilitating purchases of local foods by school
12558 districts.
12659 B. The Oklahoma Department of Agricultur e, Food, and Forestry
12760 shall encourage school districts to partner with local producers and
12861 meat processors by providing reimbursement to the school district
12962 for local food costs.

15690 C. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry
15791 is authorized to promulgate emergency and permanent rules, as
15892 necessary, to carry out the provisions of this act.
15993 SECTION 2. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
16094 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 5 -402 of Title 2, unless there
16195 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
16296 There is hereby created in the State Treasury a revolving fund
16397 for the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry to be
16498 designated the “Oklahoma Local Food for Schools Revolving Fund”.
16599 The fund shall be a continuing fund, not subject to fiscal year
166100 limitations, and shall consist of all monies received by the
167101 Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry from
168102 legislative appropriations for the purpose of facilitating purchases
169103 of local food by school districts. All monies accruing to the
170104 credit of the fund are hereby appropriated and may be expended by
171105 the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry for the
172106 purpose provided for in Section 1 of this act. Expenditures from
173107 the fund shall be made upon warrants issued by the State Treasurer
174108 against claims filed as prescribed by law with the Director of the
175109 Office of Management and Enterprise Services for approval and
176110 payment.
177111 SECTION 3. This act shall become effect ive November 1, 2024.
