4040 An Act relating to electric bicycles; providing for
4141 rebate; restricting rebate payments to natural
4242 persons; setting maximum rebate amoun t; imposing
4343 limit based on purchases during certain period of
4444 time; requiring proof of purchase price; imposing
4545 fiscal year limit on total re bate payments; providing
4646 for codification; providing an effective date; and
4747 declaring an emergency.

5454 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5555 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5656 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 4101 of Title 69, unless there
5757 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5858 A. Effective July 1, 2023, any individual person that purchases
5959 an electric bicycle, shall be entitled to a rebate payment based on
6060 the purchase price. The rebate payment shall be equal to the
6161 purchase price of the electric bicycle, but shall not exceed One
6262 Thousand Dollars ($1,000. 00).
6363 B. The rebate shall not be paid to any legal entity other than
6464 a natural person.

9191 C. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation shall require a
9292 copy of the documents contain ing the purchase price information for
9393 the electric bicycle before issuing a rebate payment .
9494 D. For each fiscal y ear during which the rebate program is
9595 operative the total a mount of rebates paid shall not exceed One
9696 Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00 ).
9797 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023.
9898 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
9999 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
100100 declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
101101 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
