50 | 50 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: | |
51 | 51 | SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified | |
52 | 52 | in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1-242.5 of Title 63, unless | |
53 | 53 | there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: | |
54 | 54 | A. For the purposes of the Maternal Mortality Review Comm ittee, | |
55 | 55 | hospitals and licensed birth centers must make a reasonable and | |
56 | 56 | good-faith effort to report all death s that occur during pregnanc y | |
57 | 57 | or within one (1) year of termination of pregnancy to the local | |
58 | 58 | coroner or medical examiner for consideration of an au topsy. | |
59 | 59 | B. These deaths must be reported within seventy-two (72) hours | |
60 | 60 | after the death occurs. | |
