HOUSE BILL 2557 By: McBride
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to public libraries; authorizing the
Oklahoma Department of Libraries Board to utilize
funds for certain relocation, remodeling, and
construction projects; establishing maximum limit for
amount of funds; providing for codification;
providing an effective date; and declaring an
emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 2-110 of Title 65, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows :
A. The Oklahoma Department of Libraries Board shall utilize
funds appropriated by the Legislature for the purpose of funding
relocation, remodeling, and construction pro jects at buildings
maintained by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, specifically The
State Library known as the Allen Wright Memorial L ibrary and the
State Record Center.

B. The appropriated funds for the relocation, remodeling, and
construction projects described in subsection A of this section
shall not exceed Twenty-seven Million Dollars ($27,000,000.00).
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023.
SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
