40	40	An Act relating to crimes and punishments; making
41	41	certain acts unlawful; providing penalties; providing
42	42	for codification; and providing an effective date.

48	48	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
49	49	SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
50	50	in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 650.12 of Title 21, unless there
51	51	is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
52	52	A. Every person who, withou t justifiable or excusable cause and
53	53	with intent to do bodily harm, commits any assault, battery or
54	54	assault and battery upon the person of a postal employee while the
55	55	postal employee is in the performance of his or her duties, upon
56	56	conviction, is guilty of a felony punishable by i mprisonment in the
57	57	custody of the Department of Corrections for a term not exceeding
58	58	two (2) years, or by a fine not exceeding One Thousand Dollars
59	59	($1,000.00), or by bot h such fine and imprisonment.
