4040 An Act relating to crimes and punishments; making
4141 certain acts unlawful; providing penalties; providing

4848 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
4949 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5050 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 650.12 of Title 21, unless there
5151 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5252 A. Every person who, withou t justifiable or excusable cause and
5353 with intent to do bodily harm, commits any assault, battery or
5454 assault and battery upon the person of a postal employee while the
5555 postal employee is in the performance of his or her duties, upon
5656 conviction, is guilty of a felony punishable by i mprisonment in the
5757 custody of the Department of Corrections for a term not exceeding
5858 two (2) years, or by a fine not exceeding One Thousand Dollars
5959 ($1,000.00), or by bot h such fine and imprisonment.

8888 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
