	48	+	certain organizations accept cash as legal tender for
	49	+	activities and contests ; prohibiting fees and
	50	+	discounts; clarifying acceptance of other forms of
	51	+	legal tender; defining term; providing for
	52	+	codification; providing an effective date ; and
	53	+	declaring an emergency .

49	59		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
50	60		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new secti on of law to be codified
51	61		in the Oklahoma Statutes a s Section 821.20 of Title 70, unless there
52	62		is created a duplica tion in numbering, reads as follows:
53	63		Any private organization or association which charges school s or
54	64		school districts a membership fee, retains a portion of revenue
55	65		generated by an interschola stic activity or contest of the member
56	66		schools, and provides th e coordination, supervision, and regulation
57	67		of the interscholastic activity or contest shall accept cash as
58		-	legal tender for admission to any activity or contest. There shall
59		-	be no increased charge for the use of cash nor shall there be a

	96	+	be no increased charge for the use of cash nor shall there be a
86	97		discount for the use of another payment method. Nothing in this act
87	98		shall be interpreted as prohibiting the acceptance of noncash forms
88	99		of legal tender.
89	100		As used in this act, the term "cash" refers to the United States
90	101		dollar.
91	102		SECTION 2. This act shall be come effective July 1, 2024.
92	103		SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the p reservation
93	104		of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
94	105		declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
95	106		be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
