36	61		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

38	62		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
39	63		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1 -112 of Title 26, unless there
40	64		is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

42	65		A. No election conducted by the State Election Board, a county
43	66		election board, or any municipality authorized to conduct elections
44	67		in Oklahoma shall use ranked choice voting, ranked voting,

48		-	B. As used in this secti on, "ranked choice voting", "ranked
49		-	voting", "proportional ranked voting", and "preferential voting"
50		-	shall mean any voting system whereby a voter ranks candidates in a

	97	+	B. As used in this section, "ranked choice voting, ranked
	98	+	voting, proportional ranked voting, and preferential voting" shall
	99	+	mean any voting system whereby a voter ranks candidates in a
51	100		sequence from first, second, third, and onward on a ballot to
52	101		determine a winning candidate.

54	102		C. As used in this section, "instant runoff voting" shall mean
55	103		any voting system where by a voter ranks candidates in a sequence
56	104		from first, second, third, and onward to determine which candidates
57	105		advance to a general election.

59	106		D. Any existing or future ordinance enacted or adopted by a
60	107		county, municipality, or any other local government en tity which is
61	108		in conflict with this section is void. Any election for any public
62	109		office in this state conducted under a voting system prohibited by
63	110		this section is void.

65	111		E. The Secretary of the State Election Board, or the President
66	112		Pro Tempore of the Ok lahoma State Senate and the Speaker of the
67	113		Oklahoma House of Representatives jointly, shall have the authority
68	114		to bring a civil action in an appropriate court for such declaratory
69	115		or injunctive relief as is necessary to carry out this section.

71	116		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
