AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to children; amending 10 O.S. 2021, 
Section 1412, which relates to an advisory committee ; 
modifying references; modifying membership of 
advisory committee; providing an effectiv e date; and 
declaring an emergency. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY     10 O.S. 2021, Section 1412, is 
amended to read as follows: 
Section 1412. A.  The Director of Oklahoma Human Services 
(OKDHS), who shall not be removed from office, except for cause, 
subject to the approval of the Commission for Human Services, shall 
appoint an advisory committee to advise the Commission and Director 
on matters relating to service delivery for persons with 
developmental disabilities. 
B.  Such advisory committee shall include among its members 
representatives of state agencies and persons representative of

professional, civic, or other public or nonprofit private agencies, 
organizations, or groups concerned with services needed by persons 
with developmental disabilities, including the parent-guardian 
association of the Northern Oklahoma Resource Center of Enid, the 
Southern Oklahoma Reso urce Center of Pauls Valley, and families of 
individuals receiving services from the Developmental Disabilities 
Services Division of the Department of Human Services OKDHS. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective July 1, 2024. 
SECTION 3.  It being immediately necessa ry for the preservation 
of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby 
declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and 
be in full force from and after its passage and approva l.
