AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to cities and towns; permitting the
enactment and enforcing of certain prohibitions;
providing definitions; providing for codification;
and providing an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 22-140 of Title 11, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
A. Notwithstanding another provision of law, a municipality may
enact and enforce an ordinance, resolution, or regulation
prohibiting the rental of a residential dwelling to a short -term
guest.
B. For purposes of this act:
1. "Residential dwelling" means any building, str ucture, or part
of the building or stru cture, that is used or inte nded to be used as
a home or residence by one or more persons to the exclusion of all
others;

2. "Short-term rental" means a residential dwelling that is
offered for rent for a fee and for f ewer than twenty-nine (29)
consecutive days;
3. "Short-term guest" means a person who rents a short -term
rental.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
