69 | 62 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: |

70 | 63 | | SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified |
---|
71 | 64 | | in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 7-140 of Title 26, unless there |
---|
72 | 65 | | is created a duplication in numbering, read s as follows: |

---|
105 | 97 | | domiciled within the United States, or that such person is not an |

106 | 98 | | individual and is organized under or created by the laws of the |

108 | 100 | | jurisdiction of the United States and has its principal place of |

109 | 101 | | business within the United States; and |

110 | 102 | | 3. A partnership, association, corporation, organization, or |

111 | 103 | | other combination of persons organized under the laws of or having |
---|
112 | 104 | | its principal place of bu siness in a foreign country. |

113 | 105 | | B. No foreign principal shall make, directly or through any |
---|
114 | 106 | | other person, a contribution, expenditure, or independent |
---|
115 | 107 | | expenditure in support of or opposition to the election of any |
---|
116 | 108 | | candidate to state or local office or to any political action |

207 | 197 | | C. No committee for or against any state or local ballot |

208 | 198 | | measure or initiative or referendum petition shall accept any |
---|
209 | 199 | | contribution that the c ommittee knew or should have known was from a |
---|
210 | 200 | | foreign principal. Upon a first violation of this subsection, the |
---|
211 | 201 | | committee shall return the contribution to the foreign principal , if |
---|
212 | 202 | | possible, or shall for feit such contribution to the Ethics |
---|
213 | 203 | | Commission. Upon a second or subsequent violation of this |
---|
214 | 204 | | subsection, the committee shall forfeit the balance of any amounts |
---|
215 | 205 | | in the committee’s campaign accounts to the Ethics Commission. |
---|
216 | 206 | | Alleged violations under this subsection shall be subject to all |
---|
217 | 207 | | notice, hearing, and ap peals requirements applicable to the Ethics |
---|
218 | 208 | | Commission. |
---|
219 | 209 | | SECTION 3. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024. |
