88 | 104 | public safety, overcoming addiction, strength ening families and | |
89 | 105 | communities, and overcoming poverty, the Office shall, to the extent | |
90 | 106 | permitted by law: | |
91 | 107 | 1. Promote and foster the development of relationships and | |
92 | 108 | coordination between state government and faith-based and community | |
93 | 109 | initiatives and serve as a resource for and liaison between state | |
94 | 110 | government and such initiatives; | |
95 | 111 | 2. Coordinate activities designed to mobilize public support | |
96 | 112 | for faith-based and community initiatives through volunteerism, | |
97 | 113 | special projects, and public -private partnerships ; | |
98 | 114 | 3. Ensure that state government decisions and programs are | |
99 | 115 | consistent with the goal of partnering with faith-based and | |
100 | 116 | community initiatives when doin g so is in the public interest, and | |
101 | 117 | monitor how such decisions and programs affect faith -based and | |
102 | 118 | community initiatives; | |
