BILL NO. 4015 By: McBride and Hill of the

Stanley of the Senate
An Act relating to schools; directing the Oklahoma
State Department of Education to develop or acquire
and implement certain threat intervention training
program; identifying who the program shall be
designed for; directing t hat the program use certain
approach; providing for codification; and providing
an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OK LAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 24-100.9 of Title 70, unless
there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
The Oklahoma State Department of Educatio n shall develop or
acquire and implement a training program designed to help school
staff and faculty identify a potential threat and provide an
opportunity to intervene and support a student on a path to violence
at the school. The training program shall be for staff and faculty
at the middle school through high school levels in all Okl ahoma
Districts. The training program must include a research-based
approach and incorporate predictive analytic s to efficiently

identify, analyze, classify, and deescalate threats of targeted
violence to designated school leaders and administrators so that
appropriate interventions can be utilized to prevent violence.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
