2859 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

3060 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
3161 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3 -119.1 of Title 70, unless
3262 there is created a duplica tion in numbering, reads as follows:

3463 A. The State Department of Education shall make available to
3564 school districts an o ptional electronic universal application for
3665 free or reduced-price meals under the National School Lunch Act .
3766 The application shall at a minimum:

3994 1. Enable parents and legal guardians to complete and
4095 electronically submit applications for free and reduce d-price meals
4196 to the school districts in which their students are enrolled ;

53103 B. The provisions of this section sh all not be construed to
54104 require school districts, parents, or legal guardians to use the
55105 electronic universal application provided for in subsection A of
56106 this section.

58107 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024.

60108 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
61109 of the public peace, heal th, or safety, an emergency is hereby
62110 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
63111 be in full force from and afte r its passage and approval.
