AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to statewide elected officials; 
defining term; allowing state officers a per diem 
when performing dutie s within the state; allowing 
state officers to receive certain mileage 
reimbursement; providing for codification; and 
providing an effective date . 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 291.4 of Title 74 , unless there 
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
A.  For the purposes of this section, “state officers” shall 
mean the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor, the Att orney General, 
the Superintendent of Public Instruction, members of the Corporation 
Commission, the State Treasurer, the State Auditor and In spector, 
the Insurance Commissioner, and the Com missioner of Labor. 
B.  State officers shall be allowed a per diem in lieu of 
expenses in an amount authorized by the provisions of the Internal 
Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, for deductibility of ex penses for 
travel while away from home without a dditional documentation for

each night spent away from home in the performance of their official 
duties within the state , in addition to the provisions of the State 
Travel Reimbursement Act . 
C.  State officers, while performing official duties, shall be 
entitled to receive reimbursement for mileage and per diem in the 
same manner as provided for in Sections 291.1 and 291.1a of this 
title, in addition to the provisions of the State Travel 
Reimbursement Act. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
