SENATE BILL NO. 1532 By: Alvord of the Senate
and
Cantrell of the House
An Act relating to cities and towns; amending 11 O.S .
2021, Section 21-102, which relates to the Oklahoma
Municipal Code; modifying distance of intervening
strip considered contiguous to a municipality; and
providing an effective date .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 11 O.S. 2021, Section 21 -102, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 21-102. Where any territory to be annexed is separated
from the corporate limits of the municipality only by a railway
right-of-way, an intervening strip less than four (4) twenty (20)
rods wide, or a highway right -of-way, the territory shall be
considered adjacent or contiguous to the municipality.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
