An Act relating to municipal courts; amending 11 O.S.
2021, Section 28-122, which relates to holiday
closure of municipal courts; making language gender
neutral; changing conditions for certain closure ; and
providing an effective date .
SUBJECT: Municipal courts
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 11 O.S. 2021, Section 28 -122, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 28-122. A. The trial docket of the municipal criminal
court of record shall be prepared and set by order of the presiding
judge at such times and in such manner as he or she may prescribe.
B. Municipal criminal courts of record shall remain closed on
those holidays observed by the district courts of the state;
however, the office of the court clerk may remain open for business
declared by the governing body of the municipality on which the
municipal offices shall be closed .
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
