28	55		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

30	56		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 2021 , Section 626.7, is
31	57		amended to read as follows:

33	58		Section 626.7. A college tuition aid grant may be awarded
34	59		annually to each eligible, qualified full -time or part-time
35	60		undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a curriculum leading
36	61		to a degree or certifi cate in an institution of collegiate grade or
37	62		postsecondary institution providing a program of training to prepare
38	63		students for employmen t in a recognized occupation in Oklahoma
39	64		approved or accredited by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher
40	65		Education or appropriate postsecondary agency . Eligible programs of

41	93		training shall include comprehensive transition and postsecondary
42	94		programs approved by the Unite d States Department of Education.
43	95		College tuition aid grants shall be awarded in accordance with the
44	96		following:

48	97		1. Eligibility. Each full -time or part-time resident student
49	98		will shall be eligible to receive a grant in an amount as provided
50	99		in paragraph 2 of this section. The Oklahoma State Regents for
51	100		Higher Education shall determine by rules and regulati ons the
52	101		maximum number of semesters a student may be eligible for grants.
53	102		No student shall be eligible for grants unless the student maintains
54	103		such minimum standards of academic performance as are required by
55	104		the institution in which the student is enroll ed.

57	105		In the event a student for any reason ceases to continue to be
58	106		enrolled during the course of an academic year, the student shall
59	107		cease to be eligible for tuition aid.; and

61	108		2. Amount of grant. The amount of tuition aid grant to any
62	109		student under this act the Oklahoma Higher Education Tuition Aid Act
63	110		for any semester shall represent a percentage not greater than
64	111		seventy-five percent (75%) of the tuit ion and enrollment fees
65	112		normally charged to residents of the State of Oklahoma this state by
66	113		the institution of attendance. The Oklahoma State Regents for
67	114		Higher Education shall determine by rules the annual maximum award
68	115		amount based on an annual assessment of funds availability.

70	143		Financial assistance received under this act the Oklahoma Higher
71	144		Education Tuition Aid Act will shall be considered as part of a
72	145		student’s financial aid package.

74	146		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024.

76	147		SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
77	148		of the public peace, health, or safety, an emergency is hereby
78	149		declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
79	150		be in full force from an d after its passage and approval.
