SENATE BILL 1830 By: Dahm
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to Oklahoma Public Employees
Retirement System; requiring report to be submitted
for certain date; providing for contents of the
report; defining term; providing for codification;
and providing an effective date .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 909.3 of Title 74, unless there
is created a duplication in nu mbering, reads as follows:
One year following the effective date of this act , the
investment committee of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement
System and the Office of the State Treasurer shall submit a report
electronically to the Governor, the President Pro Tempore of the
Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives on the
benefits and costs of investing a portion of funds used in the
Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System for compensation for
retirement purposes in digital financial assets. As used in this
section, “digital financial asset ” means a digital representation of

value that is used as a medium of exchange, unit of account, or
store of value and that is not legal tender, whether or not
denominated in legal tender .
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
