2957 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

3158 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
3259 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1096 of Title 64, unless there
3360 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

3561 A. As used in this section, “unauthorized camp” means any tent,
3662 shelter, or bedding constructed or arranged for the purpose of or in
3763 such a way to permit overnight use on a property not designated as a
3864 campsite.

4065 B. Persons may not use state -owned lands for the purposes of
4166 establishing an unauthorized camp.

4394 C. Any person who violates the provisions of this section
4495 shall, upon conviction, b e guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a
4596 fine not to exceed Fifty Dollars ($50.00) or by imprisonment in the
4697 county jail not to exceed fifteen (15) da ys, or by both such fine

4998 and imprisonment. However, a person who commits a first violation
5099 of this section shall be issued a warning , and a citation may not be
51100 issued unless the person refuses any assistance offered to them by
52101 the arresting officer. Such assistance may include, but is not
53102 limited to, transportation to a shelter, food pantry, or other place
54103 where resources are made available to assist the indigent and
55104 homeless.
