65	65	An Act relating to curriculum; amending 70 O.S. 2021,
66	66	Section 11-103.12, which relates to the Health
67	67	Education Act; directing certain instruction to only
68	68	include certain subject areas; updating statutory
69	69	reference and language; providing an effective date ;

75	75	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
76	76	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 2021, Section 11 -103.12,
77	77	is amended to read as follows:
78	78	Section 11-103.12. A. Sections 1 through 3 of this act This
79	79	section and Sections 11-103.13 and 11-103.14 of this title shall be
80	80	known and may be cited as the “Health Education Act ”.
81	81	B. The purpose of this act the Health Education Act is to:
82	82	1. Ensure students receive instruction in health, particularly
83	83	at an early age when habits are formed;
84	84	2. Support the health and well-being of children that have been
85	85	affected by traumatic experiences;
86	86	3. Improve academic outcomes for students; and

138	138	4. Improve the overall health outcomes of Oklahoma’s
139	139	population.
140	140	C. Students shall receive instruction only in the subject areas
141	141	of physical fitness, nutrition, substance use and abuse prevention,
142	142	and injury prevention and pe rsonal health.
143	143	D. The State Board of Education may promulgate rules to
144	144	implement the provisions of this act the Health Education Act .
145	145	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024.
146	146	SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
147	147	of the public peace, health, or safety, an emergency is hereby
148	148	declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
149	149	be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
