7575 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7676 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 2021, Section 11 -103.12,
7777 is amended to read as follows:
7878 Section 11-103.12. A. Sections 1 through 3 of this act This
7979 section and Sections 11-103.13 and 11-103.14 of this title shall be
8080 known and may be cited as the “Health Education Act ”.
8181 B. The purpose of this act the Health Education Act is to:
8282 1. Ensure students receive instruction in health, particularly
8383 at an early age when habits are formed;
8484 2. Support the health and well-being of children that have been
8585 affected by traumatic experiences;
8686 3. Improve academic outcomes for students; and

138138 4. Improve the overall health outcomes of Oklahoma’s

140140 C. Students shall receive instruction only in the subject areas
141141 of physical fitness, nutrition, substance use and abuse prevention,
142142 and injury prevention and pe rsonal health.
143143 D. The State Board of Education may promulgate rules to
144144 implement the provisions of this act the Health Education Act .
145145 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024.
146146 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
147147 of the public peace, health, or safety, an emergency is hereby
148148 declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
149149 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
