BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 2021, Section 11 -103.12, is amended to read as follows: Section 11-103.12. A. Sections 1 through 3 of this act This section and Sections 11-103.13 and 11-103.14 of this title shall be known and may be cited as the “Health Education Act ”. B. The purpose of this act the Health Education Act is to: 1. Ensure students receive instruction in health, particularly at an early age when habits are formed; 2. Support the health and well-being of children that have been affected by traumatic experiences; 3. Improve academic outcomes for students; and Req. Improve the overall health outcomes of Oklahoma’s population. C. Students shall receive instruction only in the subject areas of physical fitness, nutrition, substance use and abuse prevention, and injury prevention and pe rsonal health. D. The State Board of Education may promulgate rules to implement the provisions of this act the Health Education Act . SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024. SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval. 59-2-2385 EB 1/18/2024 8:35:37 AM
