5049 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5150 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 74 O.S. 2021, Section 666, is
5251 amended to read as follows:
5352 A. There is hereby created the Oklahoma Commis sion on the
5453 Status of Women. The Commission shall consist of thirty (30)
55-seventeen members and two non-voting members. The members shall be
56-appointed as follows: ten members appointed by the Governor, ten
57-members appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and ten
58-members appointed by the Speaker of the H ouse of Representatives.

146+Commerce, appointed by the Executive Director of the Oklahoma
147+Department of Commerce; and
148+13. One member who represents active mi litary members,
149+veterans, and military members of t he reserves and national guard,
150+appointed by the Governor.
151+All members shall be appointed by the appropriate appointing
152+authority for a term of five (5) three (3) years commencing with the
153+date that the previous appointee’s term expired. In making such
154+appointments to the Commission, consideration shall be given to
155+making the membership broadly representative of the geogra phic areas
156+of the state and the several racial, religious and ethnic grou ps
157+residing in the state. Each member shall hold office until the
158+successor of the member is appointed and has qualified. A member of
159+the Commission may be removed by the appropriat e appointing
160+authority for cause. A member appointed to fill a vacancy o ccurring
161+before the expiration of a term of a member separated from the
162+Commission for any cause shall be appointed for the remainder of the

184-15. One member who represents the education c ommunity and
185-represents private K-12 education, appointed by the Speaker of the
186-House of Representatives;
187-16. One member who represents the Oklahoma Department of
188-Commerce, appointed by the Executive Director of the Oklahoma
189-Department of Commerce;
190-17. One member who represent s a federally recognized Indian
191-tribe in this state, appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the
192-Senate from a list provided by federally recognized Indian tribes in
193-this state;
194-18. One member who represent s a federally recognized Indian
195-tribe in this state, appointed by the Speaker of the House of
196-Representatives from a list provided by federally recognized Indian
197-tribes in this state; and

201-All members shall be appo inted by the appropriate appointing
202-authority for a term of five (5) four (4) years commencing with the
203-date that the previous appointee’s term expired. A member shall not
204-serve more than two (2) consecutive terms. In making such
205-appointments to the Comm ission, consideration shall be given to

234-residing in the state. Each member shall hold office until the
235-successor of the member is appointed and has qualified. A member of
236-the Commission may be removed by the appropriate appointing
237-authority for cause. A member appointed to fill a vacancy o ccurring
238-before the expiration of a term of a member separated from the
239-Commission for any cause shall be appointed for the remainder of the
240190 term of the member whose office has been s o vacated. Members of the
241191 Commission shall receive no salary, but shall be entitled to travel
242192 reimbursement as provided by the State Travel Reimbursement Act,
243193 Section 500.1 et seq. of this title, from funds available to the
244194 appropriate appointing authorit y.
245195 B. A member appointed pursuant to the provisions of this act
246196 shall be appointed b y the appointing agency no later than January 1,
247197 2024. Any members appointed before November 1, 2023, shall serve
248198 the remainder of their ter ms.
249199 C. The Office of Manageme nt and Enterprise Services shall
250200 provide staff support to the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of
251201 Women.
252202 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
