AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to state-owned fencing; requiring 
certain telephone hotline maintenan ce; providing 
certain telephone hotline and fence repair 
procedures; requiring certain notification; 
authorizing certain rule promulgation by the Oklahoma 
Department of Agricult ure, Food, and Forestry ; 
providing for codification; and providing an 
effective date. 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 157 of Title 4, unless there is 
created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows: 
A.  The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry 
shall maintain on its official website a telephone number connected 
to a hotline administered and monitored by the Oklahoma Department 
of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry for any damaged state-owned 
fencing or state-owned fencing otherwise in disrepair. 
B.  The hotline shall prompt callers to provide the approximate 
location of and the date in which the caller first viewed the 
damaged or otherwise in disrepair state-owned fencing. The Oklahoma

Department of Agriculture , Food, and Forestry shall attempt to 
identify the appropriate state agency or institution responsible for 
the fence within a week of receiving the complaint and transmit 
electronically and via mail to the state agency or institution a 
notification providing the ap proximate location of and the date in 
which the caller first viewed the damage or disrepair. 
C.  The state agency or institution shall act within thirty (30) 
days of receiving notification from t he Oklahoma Department of 
Agriculture, Food, and Fore stry to repair the damaged or otherwise 
in disrepair state-owned fencing. 
D.  The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture , Food, and Forestry 
is authorized to promulgate rules to effectuate the provisions of 
this section. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall beco me effective November 1, 2023.
