57	50		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOP LE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
58	51		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
59	52		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 63.23 of Title 72, unless there
60	53		is created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows:
61	54		A. The Oklahoma Depart ment of Veterans Affairs shall represent
62	55		and protect the collective interest s of military veterans in this
63	56		state. The Department may request the engagement of the At torney
64	57		General on behalf of an individual veteran or a collective group of
65	58		veterans upon:
	59	+	1. Receiving a complaint of improperly w ithheld or revoked
	60	+	benefits or breaches of trust in the administration of funds by the
	61	+	United States Department of Veterans Affairs;
	62	+	2. Conducting a thorough review of the complaint ; and

98	90		intervene on behalf of the veteran or veterans.
99	91		B. Upon request from the Department pursuant to subsect ion A of
100	92		this section, the Attorney General m ay, at his or her discretion,
101	93		intervene on behalf of the veteran or veterans.
102	94		SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
103	95		of the public peace, he alth or safety, an emergency is hereby
104	96		declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
105	97		be in full force from and after its p assage and approval.
