5750 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOP LE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5851 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5952 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 63.23 of Title 72, unless there
6053 is created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows:
6154 A. The Oklahoma Depart ment of Veterans Affairs shall represent
6255 and protect the collective interest s of military veterans in this
6356 state. The Department may request the engagement of the At torney
6457 General on behalf of an individual veteran or a collective group of
6558 veterans upon:
59+1. Receiving a complaint of improperly w ithheld or revoked
60+benefits or breaches of trust in the administration of funds by the
61+United States Department of Veterans Affairs;
62+2. Conducting a thorough review of the complaint ; and

9991 B. Upon request from the Department pursuant to subsect ion A of
10092 this section, the Attorney General m ay, at his or her discretion,
10193 intervene on behalf of the veteran or veterans.
10294 SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
10395 of the public peace, he alth or safety, an emergency is hereby
10496 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
10597 be in full force from and after its p assage and approval.
