37 | 63 | | Board. The Board shall be composed of eleven (11) members includi ng |

38 | 64 | | six persons who are duly licensed to practi ce architecture and are |

39 | 65 | | in good standing in this state, two persons who are duly licensed to |
---|
40 | 93 | | practice landscape architecture and are in good standing in th is |
---|
41 | 94 | | state, two persons who are registered commercial interior designers |
---|
42 | 95 | | and who are active and in good standing and one lay member. Each |
---|
43 | 96 | | member of the Board shall be a qualified elector of this state, and |
---|
44 | 97 | | the architect, landscape architect and registered commercial |
---|
45 | 98 | | interior designer members shall have had five (5) years’ licensing |
---|
46 | 99 | | or registration experien ce as the professional position requires in |
---|
49 | 100 | | this state. Re-creation of the Board shall not alter existing |
---|
50 | 101 | | staggered terms. Board members, other than the lay member, shall be |
---|
51 | 102 | | appointed for a period of five (5) years thereafter; provided, that |
---|
52 | 103 | | nothing herein shall affect the tenure of office of anyone who is a |
---|
53 | 104 | | member of the Board on May 31, 1957 . A member may be reappointed to |
---|
54 | 105 | | succeed such membership . The licensed architect, landscape |
---|
55 | 106 | | architect or the register ed commercial interior designer members may |
---|
56 | 107 | | be appointed by the Governor from a list of nominees submitted by |
---|
57 | 108 | | respective professional societies of this state . Membership in a |
---|
58 | 109 | | professional society shal l not be a prerequisite to appointment to |
---|
59 | 110 | | the Board. The lay member of the Board shall be appointed by the |
---|
60 | 111 | | Governor to a term coterminous with that of the Governor . The lay |
---|
61 | 112 | | member shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor . Provided, the |
---|
62 | 113 | | lay member may continue to serve after the expiration of the term of |
---|
63 | 114 | | the member until such time as a successor is a ppointed. Vacancies |
---|
64 | 115 | | which may occur in the membership of the Board shall be filled by |
---|
65 | 116 | | appointment by the Governor . Each person who has been appointed to |
---|
66 | 144 | | fill a vacancy shall serve for the remainder of the ter m for which |
---|
67 | 145 | | the member the person shall succee d was appointed and until a |
---|
68 | 146 | | successor, in turn, has been appointed and shall have qualified . |

69 | 147 | | Each member of the Board, before entering upon the discharge of the |

70 | 148 | | duties of the member, shall make and file with t he Secretary of |

71 | 149 | | State a written oath or affirm ation for the faithful discharge of |

72 | 150 | | official duties. Each member of the Board and staff shall be |
---|
73 | 151 | | reimbursed for travel expenses pursuant to the State Trav el |
---|
