AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to veterans; directing the Oklahoma
Department of Veterans Affairs to create a certain
program; allowing certain spouses to be eligible for
the program; providing for codification; and
providing an effective date .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A ne w section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 501 of Title 72, unless there is
created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows:
The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs shall develop a
financial assistance program, not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars
($500.00) per calendar year, for any veteran who was terminated from
his or her job. The program shall also be available for surviving
unremarried spouses who can verify their spouse was a veteran and is
deceased.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
