52 | 101 | infrastructure districts, which may incur indebtedness and issue | |
53 | 102 | public infrastructure district bonds to pay for all or part of the | |
54 | 103 | cost of public improvements wit hin such districts. The cost of all | |
55 | 104 | indebtedness so incurred shall be levied and assessed by the board | |
56 | 105 | of trustees of a public infrastructure district on the property | |
57 | 106 | benefited by such improvements following the passage and approval of | |
58 | 107 | the organization of a public infrastructure district pursuant to | |
59 | 108 | subsection C of this section. The boar d shall collect the special | |
60 | 109 | assessments so levied and use the same to reimburse the public | |
61 | 110 | infrastructure district for the amount paid or to be paid by it on | |
62 | 111 | the bonds issued for such improvements not to exceed ten (10) mills | |
63 | 112 | for the purpose of providing funds for the purpose of support, | |
64 | 113 | organization, operation, and maintenance of such services. | |

66 | 114 | C. A public infrastructure district shall not be created unless | |
67 | 115 | a petition is filed with the municipality that contains the | |
68 | 116 | signatures of one hundred percent (100% ) of surface propert y owners | |
69 | 117 | within the applicable area consenting to the creation of the public | |
70 | 118 | infrastructure district. | |

72 | 119 | D. The municipality may impose limitations on th e powers of the | |
73 | 120 | public infrastructure district through the governing document | |
