54 | 63 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF O KLAHOMA: | |
55 | 64 | SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified | |
56 | 65 | in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 307.2 of Title 25, unless there | |
57 | 66 | is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: | |
58 | 67 | A. A member of a public body may participate in a public | |
59 | 68 | meeting via videoconference or telec onference from the private | |
60 | 69 | residence of the member, and shall not be required to disclose the | |

99 | 109 | residence. In such cases, full disclosure of the meeting location | |
100 | 110 | is required under the existing provisions of the Oklahoma Open | |
101 | 111 | Meeting Act. | |
102 | 112 | C. For purposes of this section, "private residence" means any | |
103 | 113 | home, apartment, or other personal living space that is not used as | |
104 | 114 | a public or commercial meeting site. | |
105 | 115 | D. Public bodies shall ensure compliance with all other | |
106 | 116 | provisions of the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, including transparency, | |
107 | 117 | accessibility, and notice requirement s, when implementing this | |
108 | 118 | section. | |
109 | 119 | E. It is the Legislature's intent to balance the principles of | |
110 | 120 | open governance with the privacy and security of individuals | |
111 | - | participating in public meetings from private residences. This | |
112 | - | section ensures compliance with transparency requirements while | |
113 | - | protecting personal addresses from public disclosure. | |
