16	47		14, O.S.L. 2022 (19 O.S. Supp. 2024, Section 547.1),

18	49		duties outside county of employment ; modifying scope
19	50		of employer liability ; removing certain reference to
20	51		duty termination; updating statutory language; and

27	57		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

29	58		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 19 O.S. 2021, Section 547.1, as
30	59		amended by Section 1, Chapter 14, O .S.L. 2022 (19 O.S. Supp. 2024,
31	60		Section 547.1), is amended to read as follows:

33	61		Section 547.1. A. Any Oklahoma sheriff, deputy sheriff, or a
34	62		reserve deputy sheriff who is assigned to perform duties associated
35	63		with the National Sheriffs ’ Association annual conference within
36	64		Oklahoma County during the month of June 2024 , outside of his or her
37	65		county of employment shall have the same powers and duties as though
38	66		employed by the Oklahoma County Sheriff ’s Office sheriff’s office

39	94		for which he or she is performing duties. Liability for the conduct
40	95		of any sheriff, deputy sheriff, or reserve deputy sheriff, while
41	96		performing duties during the National Sheriffs ’ Association annual
42	97		conference or any activities in conjunction with that conference for
43	98		June 2024 outside of his or her county of employment , shall remain
44	99		the responsibility of the counties of county in which they are he or
45	100		she is regularly employed. Salaries, insurance, and other benefits
46	101		shall be provided in the regular manner by the county in which the

50	103		sheriffs are sheriff is regularly employed.

52	104		B. Any duties assigned to sheriffs, deputy sheriffs, and
53	105		reserve deputy sheriffs as a result of this section shall terminate
54	106		on July 1, 2024.

56	107		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
