CONCURRENT RESOLUTION Whereas Leonard Warren Krug was born in 1957 in Ashland, Oregon; and Whereas Leonard Krug graduated from Ashland High School in 1976, and he attended Southern Oregon State College for two years; and Whereas Leonard Krug began working with Pacific Power in a temporary summer position and he remained with the company until his retirement, steadily rising through the ranks along the way; and Whereas Leonard Krug was a proud member of Local 659 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; and Whereas Leonard Krug had a legendary sense of humor, and he always had a joke or two up his sleeve to lighten any occasion; and Whereas Leonard Krug’s passion was hunting and fishing, and he worked tirelessly as a volun- teer to share his passion with others; and Whereas Leonard Krug was a board member of Oregon South Coast Fishermen and was a founding member and president of Oregon Anglers Alliance; and Whereas Leonard Krug believed strongly in the need to protect fishing opportunities for future generations, and he was instrumental in the fight to keep Oregon’s fisheries and hatcheries open; and Whereas Leonard Krug brought the recreational and commercial fishing communities together with legislators, local and state officials, environmentalists and tribal agencies to maintain and en- hance sustainable fishing resources for all Oregonians; and Whereas Leonard Krug was a humble man who was always willing to roll up his sleeves and do the hard work himself, behind the scenes, day after day; and Whereas Leonard Krug devoted his life to his family, to his community and to preserving nature’s bounty for all Oregonians; and Whereas Leonard Krug passed away on October 6, 2024, doing what he most enjoyed: fishing and spending time with loved ones; and Whereas Leonard Krug was survived by his beloved wife, Anna; his children, Chris, Andrew, Christa and Jeff; and seven grandchildren; and Whereas Leonard Krug was a powerful force for positivity in the lives of others, and he was always available to listen and to provide advice, sympathy or his own experiences; and NOTE:Matter in boldfaced type in an amended section is new; matter [italic and bracketed] is existing law to be omitted. LC 3817 SCR19 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Whereas Leonard Krug will be forever remembered as a legendary angler and a tireless volun- teer who touched countless lives and made the State of Oregon a better place; now, therefore, Be It Resolved by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Oregon: That we, the members of the Eighty-third Legislative Assembly, honor and celebrate the life of Leonard Warren Krug, and we express our gratitude for his service to the people of the State of Oregon; and be it further Resolved, That a copy of this resolution shall be presented to the family of Leonard Krug as an expression of our sympathy and condolences.
