Relates to the licensure of athletic trainers; adds athletic trainers to the list of persons and officials required to report cases of suspected child abuse or maltreatment.
Requires newly certified teachers to be trained in the use of an epinephrine auto-injector; requires such teachers to be certified within 3 months of date of hire.
Enacts the "construction insurance transparency act" to require insurers providing coverage for liability under the scaffold law to report, on an annual basis, to the superintendent of financial services relating to its finances and claims paid thereunder.
Ensures that construction and fabrication done off of a public work site for specific use only in a public work project be compensated at the prevailing wage rate.
Establishes a maximum temperature in school buildings and indoor facilities; provides a definition of extreme heat condition days and the standard to measure room temperature.
Requires the commissioner of the office of mental health to provide monthly status reports of the community investments and the impact on inpatient census to the chair of the senate finance committee and the chair of the assembly ways and means committee and to post such report on the office's website.
Gives state income tax credit to volunteer firefighters and members of volunteer ambulance corps in good standing up to $1200; requires such member must be in good standing for a minimum of five years and maintain continued eligibility.
Relates to employment of persons and veterans with disabilities by the state; provides up to five thousand positions may be filled by persons with a physical or mental disability and up to two thousand positions may be filled by disabled veterans and veterans with disabilities.
