Enacts the "New York urban and community tree planting and forestry program act"; provides for education, technical assistance and support for tree planting and forestry projects in urban areas and disadvantaged communities.
Relates to unlawful strikes by public employees; provides for the settlement of certain disputes relating to terms and conditions of employment of certain transit and transportation authorities.
Relates to the language which must be included in mortgage foreclosure notices; requires lenders, assignees, and mortgage loan servicers to evidence strict compliance with such notice requirements as pertinent.
Relates to prevailing wage requirements applicable to brownfield remediation work performed under private contract as it relates to certain remediation activities, for sites that are seeking or have received a determination that the site is eligible for the tangible property credit component of the brownfield redevelopment tax credit, and the work is paid for in whole or in part by public funds.
Requires certain candidates to file a statement attesting to the veracity of statements regarding the candidate's educational history, and service, employment and residency record; provides for the filing of amended statements; provides penalties.
Modifies the order in which candidates appear on the ballot; requires that offices shall be listed on the ballot in descending order based on the size of the electorate and requires certain federal offices to be listed before state, county or local offices.
Creates the "Checkout NY" pass, a comprehensive pass that allows for free or discounted use of state parks, historic sites and recreational facilities; provides one such pass to each consolidated, federated and cooperative public library system within the state free of charge for circulation.
Authorizes certain policies issued by a risk retention group not chartered in this state but which is registered with the superintendent of financial services under the federal liability risk retention act of 1986, comprised entirely of organizations to which contributions are eligible for deduction under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and which qualifies as a charitable risk pool under section 501(n) of the internal revenue code.
Requires the commissioner to establish Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander history and civic impact curriculum or instructions for school districts.
Enacts the empire state licensing act to provide all New Yorkers with access to professional, occupational, commercial, or business licenses, permits, certificates, or related registrations regardless of an applicant's citizenship or immigration status, or lack thereof.
Provides that any cemetery corporation is permitted to retire any certificates or other instruments of indebtedness related to its operations to the benefit of such cemetery's permanent maintenance fund upon notice to the certificate owners.
Provides that in order to present the claim for unjust conviction and imprisonment, claimant must establish by documentary evidence that: he or she has been convicted of one or more felonies or misdemeanors against the state and subsequently sentenced to a term of imprisonment, and has served all or any part of the sentence; and he or she has had the one or more felonies and misdemeanors dismissed with prejudice following serving all or part of the sentence; and his or her claim is not time-barred.
