2121 It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
2222 SECTION 1. Section 20-13-12 of the General Laws in Chapter 20-13 entitled "Hunting 1
2323 and Hunting Safety" is hereby amended to read as follows: 2
2424 20-13-12. Reports of hunting injuries. 3
2525 Whenever any Every person causing causes an injury to a human being by gunfire firearm, 4
2626 archery, or crossbow while hunting;, or inflicting inflicts an injury upon himself or herself with 5
2727 firearms, archery, or crossbows while hunting; or inflicting an injury upon himself or herself while 6
2828 trapping trapping, which injury requires medical assistance, the initial responding entity or 7
2929 authority providing medical assistance shall make a report to the department of environmental 8
3030 management within seventy-two (72) hours after the injury, unless that person is physically 9
3131 incapable of making the required report, in which event it is the duty of that person to designate 10
3232 some other person to file the report within the specified time. immediately upon rendering that 11
3333 assistance, or as soon thereafter as is practical. 12
3434 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 13

4747 This act would provide that whenever any person causes an injury to a human being by 1
4848 firearm, archery, or crossbow while hunting or trapping, and the injury requires medical assistance, 2
4949 the initial responding entity or authority providing medical assistance shall make a report to the 3
5050 department of environmental management immediately, or as soon thereafter as is practical. 4
