2121 It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
2222 SECTION 1. Chapter 36-4 of the General Laws entitled "Merit System" is hereby amended 1
2323 by adding thereto the following section: 2
2424 36-4-18.1. Temporary exemption from competitive tests. 3
2525 (a) Notwithstanding any general or special law, rule or regulation to the contrary to include, 4
2626 but not be limited to, ยง 36-4-18, all job applicants applying for a classified service competitive 5
2727 position within the department of human services shall be exempt from completing any competitive 6
2828 test for employment. 7
2929 (b) The exemption from testing shall apply until July 1, 2024. 8
3030 (c) The provisions of this section shall sunset and expire on July 1, 2024 9
3131 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. 10
