Chapter 27-18 of the General Laws entitled "Accident and Sickness Insurance 1 Policies" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 2 27-18-91. Physicians’ reimbursement rate from health insurers. 3 Every individual or group health insurance contract, plan or policy delivered, issued for 4 delivery or renewed in this state on or after January 1, 2024, shall increase the rate of reimbursement 5 for each in-network health care service that is reimbursed below the average reimbursement rates 6 set by Connecticut and Massachusetts. The office of health insurance commissioner shall determine 7 the increase based upon a review and analysis of Connecticut and Massachusetts reimbursement 8 rates. The rate will increase annually commensurate with the average reimbursement rates set by 9 Connecticut and Massachusetts. 10 SECTION 2. Chapter 27-19 of the General Laws entitled "Nonprofit Hospital Service 11 Corporations" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section: 12 27-19-83. Physicians’ reimbursement rate from health insurers. 13 Every individual or group health insurance contract, plan or policy delivered, issued for 14 delivery or renewed in this state on or after January 1, 2024, shall increase the rate of reimbursement 15 for each in-network health care service that is reimbursed below the average reimbursement rates 16 set by Connecticut and Massachusetts.
