| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 1. An Act Passed at the January Session A.D. 1942 entitled “An Act to 1 |

| 24 | 24 | | Incorporate the Western Coventry Fire District”, as from time to time amended, is hereby further 2 |

| 25 | 25 | | amended to read as follows: 3 |

| 26 | 26 | | Section 13. Vote to approve district merger, consolidation, or transition to municipal fire 4 |

| 27 | 27 | | department or consolidated fire district. 5 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (a) Notwithstanding any other law, the District shall not be merged, joined, consolidated, 6 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | transitioned, or otherwise made a part of a municipal fire department of the Town of Coventry, or 7 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | consolidated with any other fire district without an all-day referendum and the affirmative vote of 8 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | the electors of the District in support thereof, said vote to be supervised by the Board of Directors. 9 |

| 32 | 32 | | (b) The all-day referendum shall be called in the same manner as Special Meetings of the 10 |

| 33 | 33 | | District as set forth in Section 6 hereof. 11 |
