1515 CREATING A SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO STUDY AND PROVIDE

2323 RESOLVED, That a special legislative commission be and the same is hereby created 1
2424 consisting of five (5) members: five (5) of whom shall be members of the Senate, not more than 2
2525 four (4) from the same political party, to be appointed by the President of the Senate. 3
2626 In lieu of any appointment of a member of the legislature to a legislative study 4
2727 commission, or any commission created by a General Assembly resolution, the appointing 5
2828 authority may appoint a member of the general public to serve in lieu of a legislator. 6
2929 The purpose of said commission shall be to engage stakeholders and State officials to 7
3030 monitor the successful implementation of the Act on Climate and provide recommendations 8
3131 concerning any necessary legislation and/or oversight. 9
3232 Forthwith upon passage of this resolution, the members of the commission shall meet at 10
3333 the call of the President of the Senate, organize, and select one member to serve as chairperson of 11
3434 the commission. 12
3535 Vacancies in said commission shall be filled in like manner as the original appointment. 13
3636 The membership of said commission shall receive no compensation for their services. 14
3737 All departments and agencies of the state shall furnish such advice and information, 15
3838 documentary and otherwise, to said commission and its agents as is deemed necessary or 16
3939 desirable by the commission to facilitate the purposes of this resolution. 17
4040 The Joint Committee on Legislative Services is hereby authorized and directed to provide 18
4141 suitable quarters for said commission; and be it further 19
