House Commemoration 8023 Introduced by: Representatives Vasgaard, Bahmuller, Emery, Hunt, Moore, Muckey, Sjaarda, Van Diepen, and Wittman and Senators Crabtree, Duhamel, and Perry A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Honoring Glenn Muller of Davis, selected as the 2025 Agribusiness Citizen of the Year by the Agribusiness Division of the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce. WHEREAS, Glenn grew up on a farrow -to-finish swine operation near Davis, where he and his family reside today; and WHEREAS, Glenn earned his bachelor's degree in agriculture education from South Dakota State University, and later taught in the West Lyon Community School District, at the University of South Dakota, at Southeast Technical College, and at Smithfield Foods; and WHEREAS, Glenn served as president of the South Dakota Pork Producers Council from 1991-1992, and later became the executive director in 2010; and WHEREAS, pork production remains a vital component of South Dakota's economy; and WHEREAS, Glenn was instrumental in gaining private and public funding for the Swine Research Facility and public funding for needed upgrades at the Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Lab, both located at South Dakota State University; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundredth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that Glenn Muller is the 2025 Agribusiness Citizen of the Year as selected by the Agribusiness Division of the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce.
