Senate Commemoration 802 Introduced by: Senators Sauder, Crabtree, Deibert, Duhamel, Hulse, Perry, Reed, Schoenfish, and Smith and Representatives Emery, Heermann, Kull, Manhart, Massie, Moore, Muckey, Reisch, Roe, Venhuizen, and Wittman A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Honoring Callie Mueller of Florence, South Dakota, on being named Miss Rodeo America 2025. WHEREAS, twenty-four-year-old Callie Mueller of Florence, South Dakota, is a dedicated horsewoman and equine enthusiast, has a background in 4-H and FFA, and earned a Bachelor of Science in education from Dakota State University; and WHEREAS, Ms. Mueller was chosen as Miss Rodeo South Dakota in 2024; and WHEREAS, Ms. Mueller went on to compete in December 2024 in the nine -day Miss Rodeo America pageant to select the official spokesperson for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association; and WHEREAS, Ms. Mueller stood out among the twenty -nine contestants, excelling in horsemanship, speaking, and personality, among other categories; and WHEREAS, Callie Mueller was chosen Miss Rodeo America on December 8, 2024, at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas and will represent the rodeo community in 2025, by logging more than forty thousand miles and appearing at nearly one hundred rodeos; and WHEREAS, the lawmakers of this state cannot imagine a person better suited to wear the Landstrom's Black Hills gold crown that Miss Rodeo America wears; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundredth Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that Miss Rodeo South Dakota 2024, Callie Mueller, is worthy of respect and honor in her important new role as Miss Rodeo America 2025.
