1212 A RESOLUTION to recognize Lisa Nagy on the occasion of her
1313 retirement.

1515 WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should specially
1616 recognize those citizens who have performed with uncommon devotion and enthusiasm
1717 throughout their years of public service; and
1818 WHEREAS, Lisa Nagy is one such estimable person, who has demonstrated the
1919 greatest dedication, ability, and integrity in all her chosen endeavors; and
2020 WHEREAS, having distinguished herself as a public-spirited citizen of the highest order
2121 throughout her exemplary tenure as administrative assistant of the Alcoa Police Department,
2222 Ms. Nagy is taking her much-deserved retirement; and
2323 WHEREAS, Lisa Nagy began her career with the Alcoa Police Department as a records
2424 clerk/secretary in 1997 and rose through the ranks to administrative assistant in 2000,
2525 approaching her duties in a professional manner and using her innate ability to work with
2626 individuals from all walks of life to help others; and
2727 WHEREAS, in her position, Ms. Nagy was an instrumental part of achieving the
2828 department's first accreditation award from the Commission on Accreditation for Law
2929 Enforcement Agencies in 2002; and
3030 WHEREAS, in 2005, Ms. Nagy achieved designation as a Certified Administrative
3131 Professional from the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), and her
3232 involvement with the organization led to her nomination and selection as Administrative
3333 Professional of the Year in 2007, a most befitting honor that recognized her dedication to her
3434 profession; and

3939 WHEREAS, additionally, Lisa Nagy was chosen as the 2009 Administrative Professional
4040 of the Year and the 2011 Member of the Year for the local IAAP; and
4141 WHEREAS, a highly respected individual in her profession, Ms. Nagy has attended
4242 numerous trainings and achieved her Certified Administrative Professional rating in 2005,
4343 adding a specialty in organizational management credential in 2007; and
4444 WHEREAS, prior to her position with the APD, Ms. Nagy devoted her time and talents to
4545 several other governmental agencies within the State of Tennessee; she served the Tennessee
4646 Bureau of Investigation's Information Enforcement System as an assistant terminal agency
4747 coordinator before being promoted to a terminal agency coordinator and the Law Enforcement
4848 Accreditation Coalition of Tennessee as a secretary/treasurer; and
4949 WHEREAS, Lisa Nagy exemplifies the spirit and allegiance to family and community that
5050 are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and
5151 WHEREAS, throughout her years of public service, Ms. Nagy demonstrated the utmost
5252 professionalism, ability, and integrity, winning the sincere respect and admiration of her
5353 colleagues and a grateful public; now, therefore,
5454 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESEN TATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
5555 FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
5656 CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and commend Lisa Nagy upon the occasion of her
5757 retirement, extending our gratitude for her many years of dedicated service to the Alcoa Police
5858 Department and our best wishes for success in all her future endeavors.
5959 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
6060 for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
6161 the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear
6262 without House or Senate designation.
