<BillNo> <Sponsor> HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 11 By Moon HJR0011 000596 - 1 - A RESOLUTION to recognize Lisa Nagy on the occasion of her retirement. WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should specially recognize those citizens who have performed with uncommon devotion and enthusiasm throughout their years of public service; and WHEREAS, Lisa Nagy is one such estimable person, who has demonstrated the greatest dedication, ability, and integrity in all her chosen endeavors; and WHEREAS, having distinguished herself as a public-spirited citizen of the highest order throughout her exemplary tenure as administrative assistant of the Alcoa Police Department, Ms. Nagy is taking her much-deserved retirement; and WHEREAS, Lisa Nagy began her career with the Alcoa Police Department as a records clerk/secretary in 1997 and rose through the ranks to administrative assistant in 2000, approaching her duties in a professional manner and using her innate ability to work with individuals from all walks of life to help others; and WHEREAS, in her position, Ms. Nagy was an instrumental part of achieving the department's first accreditation award from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies in 2002; and WHEREAS, in 2005, Ms. Nagy achieved designation as a Certified Administrative Professional from the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), and her involvement with the organization led to her nomination and selection as Administrative Professional of the Year in 2007, a most befitting honor that recognized her dedication to her profession; and - 2 - 000596 WHEREAS, additionally, Lisa Nagy was chosen as the 2009 Administrative Professional of the Year and the 2011 Member of the Year for the local IAAP; and WHEREAS, a highly respected individual in her profession, Ms. Nagy has attended numerous trainings and achieved her Certified Administrative Professional rating in 2005, adding a specialty in organizational management credential in 2007; and WHEREAS, prior to her position with the APD, Ms. Nagy devoted her time and talents to several other governmental agencies within the State of Tennessee; she served the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Information Enforcement System as an assistant terminal agency coordinator before being promoted to a terminal agency coordinator and the Law Enforcement Accreditation Coalition of Tennessee as a secretary/treasurer; and WHEREAS, Lisa Nagy exemplifies the spirit and allegiance to family and community that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and WHEREAS, throughout her years of public service, Ms. Nagy demonstrated the utmost professionalism, ability, and integrity, winning the sincere respect and admiration of her colleagues and a grateful public; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESEN TATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and commend Lisa Nagy upon the occasion of her retirement, extending our gratitude for her many years of dedicated service to the Alcoa Police Department and our best wishes for success in all her future endeavors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
